Characteristics

A stunning and rare George III library table, circa 1810, with original leather top with a magnificent, verdigris-like patina. A pair of frieze drawers to the front with false drawers on the reverse, over a beautifully arched crossband down to divided legs, each with a decorative scroll detailing, on period casters. The drawers can be locked with a single key. With a gentle patina commensurate with age and use, in very good condition.

Sustainability

The average piece of furniture generates approximately 47kg of carbon dioxide equivalents – roughly the same as burning 5.3 gallons of petrol. Buying this item second-hand versus a newly made equivalent recovers the energy used to make it, rather than generating further emissions and using new materials.
